New Book Group Starts on May 18th The Outreach Team at CSCC invites interested folks to our next Social Justice Book Group beginning Monday evening, May 18th, at 7 pm on Zoom. We will be reading and discussing Non-Violence:The History of a Dangerous Idea by Mark Kurlansky, an important book recommended for those taking part/planning to take part in protests/actions across the country, but also a very in-depth exploration of the wide concept of non-violence. We will meet on six Monday evenings to throughly explore this informative book on May 18th and 25th, June 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. Please let Marjorie MacNeiil know if you would like to attend all or some of the sessions by emailing seekrvt@mac.com or texting 802-338-2756. Marjorie MacNeill for the Outreach Team |

________________ Update on the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering in February Thanks to so many of you for your generous contributions in March to One Great Hour of Sharing. College Street collected $1,875. Over the past five years, our congregation has donated over $8,000 for this offering. Last week there was a major typhoon in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. The UCC, through its Global Ministries Board, immediately worked with our partner church in that area to provide disaster relief from OGHS funds. Our dollars matter! |
________________ Outreach Ministry Team Volunteer Survey The Outreach Ministry Team would like to deepen our community connection through exploring where the members of our congregation volunteer outside of CSCC. This will enable us to:
We will collect this information in two ways: An online survey and in person after church on Sunday. To take the survey, click on this link: https://forms.gle/p2mCEhcPBPUtyVJh7 After church, in person, we will have sticky notes and pens for people to write down their volunteer info, name and way to contact them (email, text or phone). These will be placed on a board at the back of the church. For Zoom congregants, we will ask you to write down your volunteer information and preferred contact info in the chat. Thank you for participating in the survey or via sticky notes. We will share the information we collect with the congregation. Any questions, contact Mary Alice Favro at bfieldsgoshen@gmail.com ________________ |

________________ Fill Our Food Pantry
Several years ago the Youth Group built a Food Pantry and placed it on the corner of our church yard near S. Union St. It’s a great location and is often empty. This note is a rally call!
Let’s make sure there is food and/or other non-food items at least every Sunday. There is a link in the News from the Pews each week to sign up. When the link opens, scroll down for a shopping list of food and non-food items you can contribute. If can swing by and contribute during the week, that would be great too!
Thanks for your participation--Mary Alice Favro |
